Just checking in. Been awhile. A lot of water under the bridge, but we are still here. Sold the Airstream and after a couple of years we've purchased a 2018 Lance, model 1995 and we are in love again. We had it out in the spring to Big Bend (gee, I love Big Bend) and took it to Wisconsin in July to the EAA Airventure. Great trip. Spent the first night out at a KOA outside of St. Louis for 2 nights and then on to Fon du Lac, WI. 4 nights at the Breezyhill Campground. Great campground for families and older travelers as well. I'd do that one again. On the return trip we stayed at another KOA that was the worst ever. Can't even remember where we were, but the train whistles were all night long. YUK!

Hot Hot Springs
We are in Hot Springs, Arkansas. When we left Tunica, MS, we thought we would overnight and move on to Grapevine, but our plans were changed when we were not able to check into The Vineyards early. Next time when we leave I'm making a reservation to return before we depart.
We did find Catherine's Landing and it is a great place. Its only about a year old, but very well run and clean. I'd give it a 9 out of 10 - only because the doors on the bathroom stalls don't lock!!!!!!!! Who's idea was that?
All the spaces are level and a lot are pull-thrus. The wi-fi is free and very easy to use - you don't have to sign up - just log in and go. There's a great pavillion just across the road from our site and it is filled with picnic tables. The best part is the shade and the huge ceiling fans.
We've ridden the trike several times out into the national park. We found the RC field. Its not very busy. There's no electricity to recharge batteries, but the runway is paved. No hobby shop in town so we drove to Little Rock one day, but it didn't have everything Gerry wanted, so we ordered it online.
Today is Sunday after July 4 and most everyone has left. Lots of dogs (why do people bring their dogs camping and then leave them all day in a cage while they go out on the lake?). We'll be here one more week and then FINALLY its home to Grapevine for 3 months.
Head 'em up. Move 'me out!

The Sunshine State
Welcome back! After spending Thanksgiving and Christmas in Grapevine, we finished up our taxes and doctor visits and left home again. We had a great time being so close to Geremy, Tiffany, Lola and Delia. Gerry spent a lot of time at the 114th RC Aero Squadron field in Grapevine. He and John spent time building and crashing and re-building airplanes.
We stayed long enough to see Geremy compete in three bicycle races. One was in Wylie where he placed 3rd in his category. The two races in Cedar Hill State Park were Category 4 and 5 combined so its hard to tell how he finished if it had been just a Category 5 race, but we think he might have won that one if it had been a strickly Category 5.
We left on Monday, February 11 and were in rain before we hit the Louisiana state line. And rain it do for the next 2 days. Lots of rain. We got on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Natchez and drove about 100 miles before we made a decision to head towards Huntsville, Alabama to the US Space and Rocket Center. Spent 2 nights at their campground and toured the center. Interesting, but overpriced. And it was cold - still.
We needed to warm up! Headed south towards the coast. Finally landed in Pensacola and toured the Naval Aviation Museum on the Navy Base. This was much more fun than Huntsville. And the price was right - FREE! We spent our money on one of their IMAX movies about the Blue Angels.
Its hard to make reservations at places you know nothing about. I erred in making one for 2 nights just north of Tampa. Its a jungle out there! We were not comfortable in a jungle environment. It was on a river which was great, but that was all it had going for it. We had very very little cell coverage. You had to be right on the river to pick up anything.
We are not south of Tampa in Ruskin, Florida. A great little campground. A lot of winter campers and some living full time here. A bit crowded for our taste, but we are very close to a new RC field where Gerry can fly for the week while I am gone to Surprise.

Home Again, Home Again
Back in Grapevine. We arrived last Wednesday afternoon. We left Albuquerque a day early and drive down I25 to pick up US 380 that would take us all the way to Decatur where we turned on 114 and into Grapevine. Right back where we started from. Here is the view from our front door:
